El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 20, Página 2
The
Scarecrow
climbed
higher
and
sat
on
the
top
of
the
wall.
Dorothy
put
her
head
over
and
cried,
“Oh,
my!”
just
like
the
Scarecrow.
Then
Toto
came
up
and
started
to
bark,
but
Dorothy
made
him
be
quiet.
The
Lion
climbed
the
ladder
next,
and
the
Tin
Woodman
came
last.
Both
of
them
cried,
“Oh,
my!”
when
they
looked
over
the
wall.
When
they
all
sat
in
a
row
on
top
of
the
wall,
they
looked
down
and
saw
a
strange
sight.
In
front
of
them
was
a
large
country
with
a
floor
as
smooth
and
white
as
a
big
platter.
There
were
many
houses
made
of
china,
painted
in
bright
colors.
These
houses
were
small,
the
biggest
reaching
only
to
Dorothy’s
waist.
There
were
also
little
barns
with
china
fences,
and
many
cows,
sheep,
horses,
pigs,
and
chickens,
all
made
of
china,
standing
in
groups.
The
strangest
of
all
were
the
people
living
in
this
strange
country.
There
were
milkmaids
and
shepherdesses
with
bright
bodices
and
golden
spots
on
their
gowns;
princesses
with
beautiful
dresses
of
silver,
gold,
and
purple;
shepherds
in
knee
breeches
with
pink,
yellow,
and
blue
stripes,
and
golden
buckles
on
their
shoes;
princes
with
jeweled
crowns,
wearing
ermine
robes
and
satin
doublets;
and
funny
clowns
in
ruffled
gowns
with
red
spots
on
their
cheeks
and
tall,
pointed
caps.
All
these
people
were
made
of
china,
even
their
clothes,
and
the
tallest
was
no
higher
than
Dorothy’s
knee.
No
one
looked
at
the
travelers
at
first,
except
a
little
purple
china
dog
with
a
big
head.
It
came
to
the
wall
and
barked
at
them
in
a
tiny
voice,
then
ran
away.
