El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 3, Página 1
When
Dorothy
was
alone,
she
felt
hungry.
She
went
to
the
cupboard
and
cut
some
bread.
She
spread
butter
on
it
and
gave
some
to
Toto.
She
took
a
pail
and
went
to
the
brook.
She
filled
it
with
clear
water.
Toto
ran
to
the
trees
and
barked
at
birds.
Dorothy
went
to
get
him
and
saw
fruit.
She
picked
some
and
ate
it
for
breakfast.
Then
she
went
back
to
the
house.
She
and
Toto
drank
the
cool
water.
She
started
to
get
ready
for
the
journey
to
the
City
of
Emeralds.
Dorothy
had
one
more
dress.
It
was
clean
and
hung
by
her
bed.
It
was
gingham
with
white
and
blue
checks.
The
blue
was
a
little
faded
but
still
pretty.
Dorothy
washed
and
dressed
in
the
clean
gingham.
She
tied
her
pink
sunbonnet
on
her
head.
She
took
a
basket
and
filled
it
with
bread.
She
covered
it
with
a
white
cloth.
She
looked
at
her
old
shoes.
“These
shoes
will
not
do
for
a
long
trip,
Toto,”
she
said.
Toto
looked
at
her
and
wagged
his
tail.
Then
Dorothy
saw
the
silver
shoes
on
the
table.
They
belonged
to
the
Witch
of
the
East.
“I
wonder
if
they
fit
me,”
she
said
to
Toto.
“They
would
be
good
for
a
long
walk.
They
cannot
wear
out.”
