El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 4, Página 3
“My
life
is
short,
so
I
know
nothing.
I
was
made
the
day
before
yesterday.
I
don’t
know
what
happened
before
that.
When
the
farmer
made
my
head,
he
painted
my
ears
first,
so
I
heard
things.
Another
Munchkin
was
with
him,
and
the
first
thing
I
heard
was
the
farmer
asking,
‘How
do
you
like
those
ears?’
“‘They
aren’t
straight,’”
the
other
said.
“‘Never
mind,’”
said
the
farmer.
“‘They
are
ears
just
the
same,’”
which
was
true.
“‘Now
I’ll
make
the
eyes,’”
said
the
farmer.
He
painted
my
right
eye,
and
I
saw
him
and
everything
around
me.
It
was
my
first
look
at
the
world.
“‘That’s
a
nice
eye,’”
said
the
Munchkin.
“‘Blue
is
a
good
color
for
eyes.’
“‘I’ll
make
the
other
a
bit
bigger,’”
said
the
farmer.
When
the
second
eye
was
done,
I
could
see
better.
Then
he
made
my
nose
and
mouth.
But
I
didn’t
speak,
as
I
didn’t
know
what
a
mouth
was
for.
I
watched
them
make
my
body,
arms,
and
legs.
When
they
put
my
head
on,
I
felt
proud.
I
thought
I
was
as
good
as
any
man.
