El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 17, Página 2
"How
can
I
cross
the
desert?"
she
asked.
"I'll
tell
you
what
I
think,"
said
the
little
man.
"When
I
came
here,
it
was
in
a
balloon.
You
came
through
the
air,
carried
by
a
cyclone.
So,
I
believe
the
best
way
to
cross
the
desert
is
by
air.
I
can't
make
a
cyclone,
but
I
think
I
can
make
a
balloon."
"How?"
asked
Dorothy.
"A
balloon
is
made
of
silk
and
coated
with
glue
to
keep
the
gas
inside.
I
have
plenty
of
silk
in
the
Palace,
so
it
won't
be
hard
to
make
the
balloon.
But
we
don't
have
any
gas
to
fill
it,
to
make
it
float."
"If
it
won't
float,"
Dorothy
said,
"it
won't
be
useful."
"True,"
Oz
replied.
"But
we
can
fill
it
with
hot
air
to
make
it
float.
Hot
air
isn't
as
good
as
gas,
because
if
it
cools,
the
balloon
will
come
down
in
the
desert,
and
we
could
be
lost."
