El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 21, Página 2
They
walked
through
the
forest
until
it
became
too
dark
to
continue.
Dorothy,
Toto,
and
the
Lion
lay
down
to
sleep,
while
the
Woodman
and
the
Scarecrow
watched
over
them
as
usual.
When
morning
came,
they
started
again.
Soon,
they
heard
a
low
rumble
like
many
wild
animals
growling.
Toto
whimpered
a
bit,
but
the
others
were
not
scared.
They
followed
the
well-trodden
path
until
they
reached
an
open
space
in
the
woods.
There,
hundreds
of
animals
of
every
kind
were
gathered.
There
were
tigers,
elephants,
bears,
wolves,
foxes,
and
more.
For
a
moment,
Dorothy
was
afraid.
But
the
Lion
explained
that
the
animals
were
having
a
meeting,
and
he
guessed
from
their
noises
that
they
were
in
trouble.
As
he
spoke,
some
of
the
animals
saw
him,
and
the
big
gathering
went
silent
as
if
by
magic.
The
biggest
tiger
came
up
to
the
Lion
and
bowed,
saying:
“Welcome,
O
King
of
Beasts!
You
have
come
just
in
time
to
fight
our
enemy
and
bring
peace
to
the
forest
animals
again.”
“What
is
your
trouble?”
asked
the
Lion
quietly.
“We
are
all
in
danger,”
answered
the
tiger,
“from
a
fierce
enemy
that
has
recently
come
into
this
forest.
It
is
a
huge
monster,
like
a
giant
spider,
with
a
body
as
big
as
an
elephant
and
legs
as
long
as
tree
trunks.
It
has
eight
legs,
and
as
it
crawls
through
the
forest,
it
grabs
an
animal
with
a
leg
and
eats
it
like
a
spider
eats
a
fly.
None
of
us
is
safe
while
this
creature
is
alive,
and
we
had
called
a
meeting
to
decide
what
to
do
when
you
arrived.”
