El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 6, Página 2
Just
then,
there
was
a
terrible
roar
from
the
forest,
and
a
great
Lion
jumped
onto
the
road.
With
one
swipe
of
his
paw,
he
sent
the
Scarecrow
spinning
to
the
edge
of
the
road.
Then
he
struck
the
Tin
Woodman
with
his
sharp
claws,
but
he
couldn't
harm
the
tin.
The
Woodman
fell
over
and
lay
still.
Little
Toto,
now
that
he
had
an
enemy,
ran
barking
at
the
Lion.
The
beast
opened
his
mouth
to
bite
the
dog,
but
Dorothy,
afraid
for
Toto,
rushed
forward
and
slapped
the
Lion
on
the
nose
as
hard
as
she
could,
shouting:
"Don't
you
dare
bite
Toto!
You
should
be
ashamed
of
yourself,
a
big
beast
like
you,
trying
to
bite
a
little
dog!"
"I
didn't
bite
him,"
said
the
Lion,
rubbing
his
nose
with
his
paw
where
Dorothy
had
hit
it.
"No,
but
you
tried
to,"
she
replied.
"You're
nothing
but
a
big
coward."
"I
know
it,"
said
the
Lion,
hanging
his
head
in
shame.
"I've
always
known
it.
But
how
can
I
help
it?"
