El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 6, Página 8
So
the
little
group
set
off
on
their
journey
again,
with
the
Lion
walking
proudly
next
to
Dorothy.
Toto
didn't
like
the
new
friend
at
first
because
he
remembered
almost
being
crushed
by
the
Lion's
jaws.
But
after
a
while,
he
felt
more
comfortable,
and
soon
Toto
and
the
Cowardly
Lion
became
good
friends.
The
rest
of
the
day
passed
without
any
more
adventures
to
disturb
their
journey.
Once,
the
Tin
Woodman
stepped
on
a
beetle
crawling
on
the
road
and
killed
it.
This
made
him
very
sad
because
he
never
wanted
to
hurt
any
living
creature.
As
he
walked,
he
cried
tears
of
sorrow,
which
ran
down
his
face
and
rusted
his
jaw
hinges.
When
Dorothy
asked
him
a
question,
he
couldn't
open
his
mouth
because
his
jaws
were
rusted
shut.
He
became
very
frightened
and
made
many
motions
to
Dorothy
to
help
him,
but
she
didn't
understand.
The
Lion
was
also
confused,
but
the
Scarecrow
grabbed
the
oil-can
from
Dorothy's
basket
and
oiled
the
Woodman's
jaws,
so
he
could
talk
again
after
a
few
moments.
"This
will
teach
me
to
watch
where
I
step,"
he
said,
"because
if
I
kill
another
bug,
I'll
cry
again,
and
crying
rusts
my
jaws
so
I
can't
speak."
After
that,
he
walked
very
carefully,
watching
the
road,
and
stepped
over
tiny
ants
to
avoid
harming
them.
The
Tin
Woodman
knew
he
had
no
heart,
so
he
took
great
care
never
to
be
cruel
or
unkind.
"You
people
with
hearts,"
he
said,
"have
something
to
guide
you
and
never
do
wrong.
But
I
have
no
heart,
so
I
must
be
very
careful.
When
Oz
gives
me
a
heart,
I
won't
have
to
worry
so
much."
