El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 7, Página 1
They
had
to
camp
out
that
night
under
a
big
tree
in
the
forest
because
there
were
no
houses
nearby.
The
tree
gave
them
a
thick
cover
to
keep
them
dry,
and
the
Tin
Woodman
chopped
a
big
pile
of
wood
with
his
axe.
Dorothy
built
a
nice
fire
that
warmed
her
and
made
her
feel
less
lonely.
She
and
Toto
ate
the
last
of
their
bread,
and
now
she
worried
about
what
they
would
eat
for
breakfast.
“If
you
want,”
said
the
Lion,
“I
can
go
into
the
forest
and
hunt
a
deer
for
you.
You
can
cook
it
over
the
fire,
since
you
like
cooked
food,
and
then
you’ll
have
a
good
breakfast.”
“Don’t!
Please
don’t,”
begged
the
Tin
Woodman.
“I
would
cry
if
you
killed
a
deer,
and
then
my
jaws
would
rust
again.”
But
the
Lion
went
into
the
forest
and
found
his
own
supper,
and
no
one
knew
what
it
was
because
he
didn’t
say.
The
Scarecrow
found
a
tree
full
of
nuts
and
filled
Dorothy’s
basket
with
them,
so
she
wouldn’t
be
hungry
for
a
while.
She
thought
this
was
very
kind
of
the
Scarecrow,
but
she
laughed
at
how
awkwardly
he
picked
up
the
nuts.
His
padded
hands
were
clumsy,
and
the
nuts
were
small,
so
he
dropped
many.
The
Scarecrow
didn’t
mind
how
long
it
took
because
it
kept
him
away
from
the
fire.
He
was
afraid
a
spark
might
burn
him
up.
He
stayed
far
from
the
flames
and
only
came
close
to
cover
Dorothy
with
dry
leaves
when
she
went
to
sleep.
These
leaves
kept
her
warm,
and
she
slept
well
until
morning.
When
daylight
came,
the
girl
washed
her
face
in
a
little
brook,
and
soon
they
all
started
toward
the
Emerald
City.
This
was
going
to
be
an
exciting
day
for
them.
They
had
been
walking
for
about
an
hour
when
they
saw
a
big
ditch
that
crossed
the
road
and
divided
the
forest
as
far
as
they
could
see.
It
was
very
wide,
and
when
they
looked
into
it,
they
saw
it
was
also
very
deep,
with
big,
sharp
rocks
at
the
bottom.
The
sides
were
so
steep
that
none
of
them
could
climb
down,
and
for
a
moment,
it
seemed
like
their
journey
might
end
there.
