Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet
Capítulo 11, Página 22
I
had
just
finished
my
tea
when
he
returned,
clearly
in
high
spirits,
swinging
an
old
boot
in
his
hand.
He
tossed
it
into
a
corner
and
poured
himself
a
cup
of
tea.
"I
just
stopped
by
as
I
passed,"
he
said.
"I'm
going
right
on."
"Where
to?"
"Oh,
to
the
other
side
of
the
West
End.
It
may
take
a
while
before
I
get
back.
Don't
wait
up
for
me
if
I'm
late."
"How's
it
going?"
"Oh,
so-so.
No
complaints.
I've
been
out
to
Streatham
since
I
last
saw
you,
but
I
didn't
visit
the
house.
It's
a
charming
little
problem,
and
I
wouldn't
have
missed
it
for
a
lot.
However,
I
mustn't
sit
here
chatting
but
must
change
out
of
these
shabby
clothes
and
return
to
my
respectable
self."
I
could
see
by
his
manner
that
he
had
more
reasons
to
be
satisfied
than
his
words
suggested.
His
eyes
twinkled,
and
there
was
even
some
color
on
his
pale
cheeks.
He
hurried
upstairs,
and
a
few
minutes
later,
I
heard
the
hall
door
slam,
indicating
he
was
off
on
his
hunt
again.
I
waited
until
midnight,
but
he
didn't
return,
so
I
went
to
bed.
It
wasn't
unusual
for
him
to
be
gone
for
days
and
nights
when
he
was
on
a
trail,
so
his
lateness
didn't
surprise
me.
I
don't
know
what
time
he
came
in,
but
when
I
came
down
for
breakfast
in
the
morning,
there
he
was
with
a
cup
of
coffee
in
one
hand
and
the
newspaper
in
the
other,
looking
fresh
and
neat.
