Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 3, Página 1
Tom
stood
in
front
of
Aunt
Polly.
She
sat
by
the
window.
The
room
was
bright
and
calm.
Aunt
Polly
was
sleepy.
She
had
no
one
but
the
cat.
The
cat
slept
in
her
lap.
Her
glasses
were
on
her
head.
She
thought
Tom
had
left.
She
was
surprised
to
see
him.
He
said,
"Can
I
go
play
now,
Aunt?"
"What,
already?
How
much
did
you
do?"
"It’s
all
done,
Aunt."
"Tom,
don’t
lie
to
me.
I
don’t
like
it."
"I’m
not
lying,
Aunt.
It
is
all
done."
Aunt
Polly
did
not
believe
him.
She
went
out
to
check.
She
thought
only
some
was
done.
But
all
the
fence
was
white.
It
was
very
neat.
She
was
very
surprised.
She
said:
"Well,
I
never!
You
can
work
when
you
want,
Tom."
She
added,
"But
you
don’t
want
to
work
often.
Go
play,
but
come
back
soon,
or
I’ll
punish
you."
She
was
happy
with
Tom’s
work.
She
gave
him
an
apple.
She
talked
about
good
work.
Tom
listened.
He
took
a
doughnut
too.
