Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 1, Página 14
“Say
‘enough’!”—and
Tom
kept
hitting
him.
At
last,
the
stranger
said
a
muffled
“Enough!”
and
Tom
let
him
up
and
said:
“Now
you’ll
learn.
Better
watch
who
you’re
messing
with
next
time.”
The
new
boy
went
off,
brushing
the
dust
from
his
clothes,
sobbing,
and
sometimes
looking
back,
shaking
his
head,
and
saying
what
he
would
do
to
Tom
next
time.
Tom
laughed
at
him
and
walked
away
happily.
When
Tom’s
back
was
turned,
the
new
boy
picked
up
a
stone,
threw
it,
and
hit
Tom
between
the
shoulders.
Then
he
ran
away
like
a
deer.
Tom
chased
him
home
and
found
out
where
he
lived.
Tom
waited
at
the
gate,
daring
the
boy
to
come
out,
but
the
boy
only
made
faces
at
him
through
the
window.
Then
the
boy’s
mother
came
and
called
Tom
a
bad,
rude
child
and
told
him
to
go
away.
So
he
left,
but
he
said
he
would
wait
for
that
boy.
He
got
home
late
that
night,
and
when
he
climbed
in
through
the
window,
he
found
his
aunt
waiting
for
him.
When
she
saw
his
dirty
clothes,
she
decided
he
would
work
hard
on
Saturday
instead
of
playing.
