Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 13, Página 1
Tom
made
up
his
mind.
He
felt
sad
and
alone.
He
thought
nobody
loved
him.
Maybe
they
would
be
sorry
when
they
found
out.
He
tried
to
do
right,
but
they
pushed
him
away.
So,
he
decided
to
live
a
life
of
crime.
He
had
no
other
choice.
He
walked
far
down
Meadow
Lane.
The
school
bell
rang
softly
in
his
ears.
He
cried
because
he
would
never
hear
it
again.
It
was
hard,
but
he
had
to
go.
They
pushed
him
into
the
cold
world,
but
he
forgave
them.
Then
he
cried
even
more.
Just
then,
he
met
Joe
Harper.
Joe
looked
serious
and
upset.
They
both
had
the
same
thought.
Tom
wiped
his
eyes
and
spoke.
He
said
he
wanted
to
leave
home
and
never
come
back.
He
hoped
Joe
would
not
forget
him.
Joe
wanted
to
ask
Tom
the
same
thing.
He
came
to
find
Tom
for
that
reason.
Joe's
mom
hit
him
for
drinking
cream
he
never
touched.
She
was
tired
of
him
and
wanted
him
to
leave.
Joe
hoped
she
would
be
happy
and
not
regret
it.
The
boys
walked
together,
feeling
sad.
They
promised
to
stay
together
like
brothers.
They
would
never
part
until
death.
They
made
plans.
Joe
wanted
to
be
a
hermit
and
live
in
a
cave.
But
Tom
talked
about
a
life
of
crime.
Joe
agreed
to
be
a
pirate.
Three
miles
from
St.
Petersburg,
there
was
an
island
on
the
Mississippi
River.
It
was
narrow
and
full
of
trees.
No
one
lived
there.
It
was
far
from
the
shore,
near
a
big
forest.
They
chose
Jackson’s
Island.
They
did
not
think
about
who
they
would
rob.
They
found
Huckleberry
Finn,
and
he
joined
them.
He
did
not
care
what
he
did.
They
planned
to
meet
at
midnight
by
the
river.
There
was
a
small
raft
there.
They
would
bring
hooks,
lines,
and
food
they
could
steal.
Before
the
day
ended,
they
told
a
few
people
that
something
big
would
happen
soon.
Everyone
had
to
keep
quiet
and
wait.”
At
midnight,
Tom
came
with
a
ham
and
some
other
things.
He
stopped
in
the
bushes
above
the
meeting
place.
The
night
was
clear
and
quiet.
The
river
looked
calm.
Tom
listened
but
heard
nothing.
He
gave
a
low
whistle.
Someone
answered
from
below.
Tom
whistled
two
more
times.
The
signals
were
answered.
Then
a
voice
said:
“Who
goes
there?”
