El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 4, Página 2
A
man
named
Klipspringer
was
there
so
often
that
people
called
him
"the
boarder."
I
doubt
he
had
another
home.
Theatrical
people
like
Gus
Waize,
Horace
O’Donavan,
Lester
Myer,
George
Duckweed,
and
Francis
Bull
came
too.
From
New
York
were
the
Chromes,
the
Backhyssons,
the
Dennickers,
Russel
Betty,
the
Corrigans,
the
Kellehers,
the
Dewars,
the
Scullys,
S.
W.
Belcher,
the
Smirkes,
the
young
Quinns,
and
Henry
L.
Palmetto,
who
jumped
in
front
of
a
subway
train.
Benny
McClenahan
always
arrived
with
four
girls.
They
looked
so
much
alike
that
it
seemed
they
had
been
there
before.
I
forgot
their
names—maybe
Jacqueline,
Consuela,
Gloria,
Judy,
or
June.
Their
last
names
were
like
flowers
or
months,
or
the
names
of
rich
American
families.
I
also
remember
Faustina
O’Brien,
the
Baedeker
girls,
young
Brewer
who
lost
his
nose
in
the
war,
Mr.
Albrucksburger,
Miss
Haag
his
fiancée,
Ardita
Fitz-Peters,
Mr.
P.
Jewett,
Miss
Claudia
Hip
with
a
man
who
might
have
been
her
chauffeur,
and
a
prince
we
called
Duke.
All
these
people
came
to
Gatsby’s
house
in
the
summer.
One
morning
in
July,
Gatsby’s
beautiful
car
came
up
my
drive.
It
played
a
tune
with
its
horn.
It
was
the
first
time
he
called
on
me,
even
though
I
had
gone
to
two
of
his
parties
and
used
his
beach
often.
