El Gran Gatsby
Capítulo 1, Página 15
"I'll
tell
you
a
family
secret,"
she
whispered
enthusiastically.
"It's
about
the
butler's
nose.
Want
to
hear?"
"That's
why
I
came
over
tonight."
"Well,
he
wasn't
always
a
butler;
he
used
to
polish
silver
for
people
in
New
York
with
a
service
for
two
hundred.
He
polished
it
all
day
until
it
affected
his
nose—"
"Things
went
from
bad
to
worse,"
Miss
Baker
suggested.
"Yes.
Things
worsened
until
he
had
to
quit."
For
a
moment,
the
last
sunshine
affectionately
lit
her
glowing
face;
her
voice
drew
me
in
breathlessly.
Then
the
glow
faded,
each
light
leaving
her
with
regret,
like
children
leaving
a
street
at
dusk.
