El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 12, Página 10
They
gently
lifted
Dorothy
and
carried
her
through
the
air.
They
brought
her
to
the
castle
and
set
her
down
on
the
doorstep.
The
leader
said
to
the
Witch:
“We
did
what
we
could.
The
Tin
Woodman
and
the
Scarecrow
are
destroyed,
and
the
Lion
is
tied
in
your
yard.
We
cannot
harm
the
girl
or
her
dog.
Our
time
with
you
is
over,
and
you
will
not
see
us
again.”
Then
all
the
Winged
Monkeys
flew
away,
laughing
and
making
noise,
until
they
were
out
of
sight.
The
Wicked
Witch
was
surprised
and
worried
when
she
saw
the
mark
on
Dorothy’s
forehead.
She
knew
neither
the
Monkeys
nor
she
could
hurt
the
girl.
She
looked
at
Dorothy’s
feet
and
saw
the
Silver
Shoes.
She
trembled
with
fear
because
she
knew
how
powerful
they
were.
At
first,
she
wanted
to
run
away
from
Dorothy.
But
she
looked
into
Dorothy’s
eyes
and
saw
that
the
girl
did
not
know
the
power
of
the
Shoes.
The
Witch
laughed
to
herself
and
thought,
“I
can
make
her
my
slave
because
she
does
not
know
her
power.”
Then
she
said
to
Dorothy,
harshly:
“Come
with
me
and
do
everything
I
say.
If
you
do
not,
I
will
destroy
you
like
I
did
the
Tin
Woodman
and
the
Scarecrow.”
Dorothy
followed
her
through
the
beautiful
rooms
of
the
castle.
They
went
to
the
kitchen,
where
the
Witch
told
her
to
clean
the
pots
and
sweep
the
floor
and
keep
the
fire
going.
