El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 7, Página 6
Dorothy
went
first,
holding
Toto.
The
Tin
Woodman
followed,
and
the
Scarecrow
came
next.
The
Lion,
though
afraid,
turned
to
face
the
Kalidahs.
He
roared
so
loudly
that
Dorothy
screamed,
and
the
Scarecrow
fell
over.
Even
the
beasts
stopped
in
surprise.
But
the
Kalidahs
rushed
forward
again.
The
Lion
crossed
the
tree
and
watched
them.
The
beasts
started
to
cross
the
tree
too.
The
Lion
said
to
Dorothy:
“We
are
lost.
They
will
tear
us
apart.
Stand
behind
me,
and
I
will
fight
them.”
“Wait!”
called
the
Scarecrow.
He
asked
the
Woodman
to
cut
the
end
of
the
tree.
The
Tin
Woodman
used
his
axe.
Just
as
the
Kalidahs
were
almost
across,
the
tree
fell
into
the
ditch,
and
the
beasts
fell
with
it.
They
were
smashed
on
the
rocks
below.
“Well,”
said
the
Cowardly
Lion,
breathing
a
sigh
of
relief,
“we
will
live
a
bit
longer,
and
I
am
glad.
It
must
be
terrible
not
to
be
alive.
Those
creatures
scared
me
so
much.”
“Ah,”
said
the
Tin
Woodman
sadly,
“I
wish
I
had
a
heart
to
beat.”
