El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 9, Página 6
The
mice
came
from
everywhere,
thousands
of
them:
big,
little,
and
middle-sized.
Each
one
brought
a
piece
of
string
in
its
mouth.
This
was
when
Dorothy
woke
up
from
her
long
sleep
and
opened
her
eyes.
She
was
surprised
to
find
herself
on
the
grass,
with
thousands
of
mice
around
her.
But
the
Scarecrow
told
her
everything,
and
turning
to
the
important
little
Mouse,
he
said:
"Let
me
introduce
you
to
her
Majesty,
the
Queen."
Dorothy
nodded
seriously,
and
the
Queen
made
a
curtsy.
Then
she
became
friendly
with
Dorothy.
The
Scarecrow
and
the
Woodman
began
to
tie
the
mice
to
the
cart
with
the
strings
they
brought.
One
end
of
a
string
was
tied
around
each
mouse's
neck
and
the
other
end
to
the
cart.
The
cart
was
much
bigger
than
the
mice,
but
when
all
the
mice
were
tied,
they
could
pull
it
easily.
Even
the
Scarecrow
and
the
Tin
Woodman
could
sit
on
it,
and
the
mice
pulled
them
quickly
to
where
the
Lion
was
sleeping.
After
much
hard
work,
because
the
Lion
was
heavy,
they
got
him
onto
the
cart.
Then
the
Queen
quickly
told
her
mice
to
start
moving
because
she
worried
they
might
fall
asleep
among
the
poppies.
At
first,
the
little
creatures,
even
though
there
were
many,
could
hardly
move
the
heavy
cart.
But
the
Woodman
and
the
Scarecrow
pushed
from
behind,
and
it
got
easier.
Soon
they
rolled
the
Lion
out
of
the
poppy
bed
to
the
green
fields,
where
he
could
breathe
fresh
air
again
instead
of
the
flowers'
dangerous
scent.
