El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 20, Página 2
So
the
Scarecrow
climbed
further
up
and
sat
on
top
of
the
wall.
Dorothy
put
her
head
over
and
cried,
“Oh,
my!”
just
as
the
Scarecrow
had.
Then
Toto
climbed
up
and
started
barking,
but
Dorothy
told
him
to
be
quiet.
The
Lion
climbed
the
ladder
next,
and
the
Tin
Woodman
came
last.
Both
of
them
cried,
“Oh,
my!”
as
soon
as
they
looked
over
the
wall.
When
they
all
sat
in
a
row
on
top
of
the
wall,
they
looked
down
and
saw
a
strange
sight.
Below
them
was
a
large
area
with
a
floor
as
smooth,
shiny,
and
white
as
the
bottom
of
a
big
plate.
Scattered
around
were
many
houses
made
entirely
of
china
and
painted
in
bright
colors.
These
houses
were
quite
small,
with
the
tallest
reaching
only
as
high
as
Dorothy’s
waist.
There
were
also
pretty
little
barns
with
china
fences,
and
many
cows,
sheep,
horses,
pigs,
and
chickens,
all
made
of
china,
stood
in
groups.
But
the
strangest
of
all
were
the
people
living
in
this
odd
country.
There
were
milkmaids
and
shepherdesses
with
brightly
colored
dresses
and
golden
spots
on
their
gowns;
princesses
in
gorgeous
silver,
gold,
and
purple
frocks;
shepherds
in
knee
breeches
with
pink,
yellow,
and
blue
stripes,
and
golden
buckles
on
their
shoes;
princes
with
jeweled
crowns,
wearing
ermine
robes
and
satin
doublets;
and
funny
clowns
in
ruffled
gowns
with
round
red
spots
on
their
cheeks
and
tall,
pointed
hats.
Strangest
of
all,
these
people
were
all
made
of
china,
even
their
clothes,
and
were
so
small
that
the
tallest
was
no
higher
than
Dorothy’s
knee.
At
first,
no
one
looked
at
the
travelers
except
a
little
purple
china
dog
with
an
extra-large
head.
It
came
to
the
wall,
barked
at
them
in
a
tiny
voice,
and
then
ran
away.
