El Maravilloso Mago de Oz
Capítulo 3, Página 2
She
took
off
her
old
leather
shoes
and
tried
on
the
silver
ones.
They
fit
her
as
if
they
had
been
made
for
her.
Finally,
she
picked
up
her
basket.
“Come
along,
Toto,”
she
said.
“We
will
go
to
the
Emerald
City
and
ask
the
Great
Oz
how
to
get
back
to
Kansas.”
She
closed
the
door,
locked
it,
and
put
the
key
carefully
in
her
dress
pocket.
So,
with
Toto
trotting
along
behind
her,
she
started
on
her
journey.
There
were
several
roads
nearby,
but
she
quickly
found
the
one
paved
with
yellow
bricks.
Soon
she
was
walking
briskly
toward
the
Emerald
City,
her
silver
shoes
tinkling
on
the
hard,
yellow
road.
The
sun
shone
brightly,
and
the
birds
sang
sweetly.
Dorothy
did
not
feel
nearly
as
bad
as
you
might
think
a
little
girl
would,
who
had
been
taken
from
her
own
country
and
placed
in
a
strange
land.
As
she
walked,
she
was
surprised
by
how
pretty
the
country
was.
There
were
neat
fences
beside
the
road,
painted
a
dainty
blue
color.
Beyond
them
were
fields
of
grain
and
vegetables.
The
Munchkins
were
clearly
good
farmers
and
could
grow
large
crops.
Sometimes
she
passed
a
house,
and
people
came
out
to
look
at
her
and
bow
low
as
she
went
by.
Everyone
knew
she
had
destroyed
the
Wicked
Witch
and
set
them
free.
The
Munchkin
houses
were
odd,
round
dwellings
with
big
domes
for
roofs.
All
were
painted
blue,
as
blue
was
the
favorite
color
in
this
part
of
the
East.
